Does God hear your prayers?

From The Pastor’s Pen – By Brian Horrobin

I read a really good quote recently on social media that was coined many years ago by Walter Henrichsen: “God listens to your prayers with a stethoscope.”

Do you know what that means?

It means that He listens very carefully and pays special attention to our petitions of Him, regardless of how trivial those petitions may seem.

No issue is too small for the Lord.

Many years ago I was visiting an elderly widow from my congregation.

I asked her if there was anything that she wanted me to pray about on her behalf.

She replied, “Yes, but it is a silly thing and I don’t want to bother the Lord with it.”

I asked her if this issue was silly to her and she replied, “No, it is something that I think about often.”

I let her know that if the issue was important to her then it was important to God.

With that we bowed our heads and brought the matter before the Lord in prayer.

When a doctor uses a stethoscope he is able to hear minute sounds of the heart that are imperceptible to regular outside hearing.

This allows the doctor to find out things that would not otherwise be found out.

God is like that when we pray to Him.

He hears the very beat of our spiritual heart and is able to do for us what is needed the most.

I encourage you to trust Him today with even your smallest and seemingly insignificant prayers.

The Lord hears you and cares about those prayers!
