Weapons in Chatham
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 25, 2020 officers responded to a family dispute.
As a result, a 22-year-old Chatham man was charged with weapons dangerous and mischief under $5,000.
The suspect barricaded himself in a rental unit while police negotiated and began procedure for a warrant.
Prior to the warrant being obtained the man surrendered to police, was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters where he was released with a future court date.
Assault in Chatham
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 25, 2020 a 32-year-old Chatham man attended his sister’s residence wanting to speak to her
boyfriend.
An argument ensued which resulted in the male assaulting the boyfriend giving him a cut above his eye.
The suspect left the scene but was located later, arrested for assault and released with a future court date.
Impaired driving and Liquor Licence Act in Chatham
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 25, 2020, just before 7 p.m., police attended a parking lot on Wellington Street where they located male in care and control of a motor vehicle having consumed alcohol.
The 24-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to Chatham Kent Police headquarters for breath tests.
The man registered over the legal limit, his drivers licence was seized, suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Shortly after his release a disturbance was called in for the downtown area.
Upon arrival police located the same male.
He was arrested and taken to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters until he was sober enough to keep the peace.
