Man charged with domestic related offences

Chatham-Kent Police service officials allege: Yesterday, police received information that a man, currently on conditions not to communicate with a specific Dover Township woman or attend near her home, was driving by the residence and following her.

Last night, police located the man and he was arrested.

The 37-year-old Chatham man has been charged with criminal harassment and three counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Neighbour dispute leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a neighbour dispute in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man was currently bound by conditions not to communicate with his neighbour.

Yesterday, the man yelled at his neighbour a couple different times throughout the day.

The 46-year-old Chatham man has been arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police service officials allege: Last night, a Thamesville man was walking with a woman, when she punched him.

The 43-year-old Thamesville woman was arrested and charged with assault.

She was released pending a future court date of September 16, 2020.

Woman charged with breaching her release conditions

Chatham-Kent Police service officials allege: On June 24, 2020 a woman was released from court with several conditions.

Two of those conditions stated that she was to remain in her residence at all times and not to possess a cell phone.

On July 1, 2020 the woman was released from custody again with the same conditions.

Last night, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Blenheim.

Upon police arrival, the woman fled on foot.

Officers found the woman hiding outside behind a garbage can.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the woman was found to be in possession of a cell phone.

The 29-year-old Dresden woman has been charged with four counts of failing to comply with her release conditions.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police conducted traffic enforcement on Longwoods Road.

Four motorists were stopped and charged with speeding.

Chatham-Kent Police service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police conducted traffic enforcement on McNaughton Avenue East in Chatham.

Nine motorists were stopped and charged with speeding through the posted 40km/h zone.

Man charged with careless driving

Chatham-Kent Police service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Thirteenth Line between Four Rod Road and Bloomfield Road.

Upon police arrival, officers observed the vehicle in the ditch, unattended.

Through investigation, officers located the driver hiding a short distance away with minor injuries.

The 29-year-old Chatham man was charged with careless driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

Total damage was estimated at $3,000.
