Woman charged with break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, police responded to a disturbance in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman entered the home of two men, known to her, and assaulted them.

The 39-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with two counts of break and enter while committing an assault.

She was released pending a future court date of August 28, 2020.

Woman charged with obstruct police

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, police responded to an unwanted man and woman at a local motel in Chatham.

Officers located the pair and the woman falsely identified herself.

The woman’s true identity was confirmed as officers learned she was currently wanted by three other police services.

The 34-year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested and charged with obstruct police.

She was released pending a future court date of September 9, 2020.

Family dispute leads to assault charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a family dispute between adult siblings in Howard Township.

A 21-year-old man threw a plate striking his sister in the leg causing a minor injury.

The man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.

He was released pending a future court date of September 9, 2020.

Arrest leads to drug charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 3:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to the report of a suspicious person in the backyard of a residence on Talbot Trail.

Officers located a man sleeping inside a small hut on the property.

Through investigation, police learned that the man was currently bound by conditions not to leave his residence.

The man was arrested and upon being searched was found to be in possession of crystal methamphetamine, even though he was also on conditions not to possess any illicit drugs.

The 24-year-old Kingsville man has been charged with two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions and drug possession.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Break and enter in Ridgetown

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Thursday and yesterday, unknown suspects entered an unlocked shop on Beechwood Line and stole:

– Makita cordless impact drill

– Makita drill batteries x2

– Makita charger

– Key for a 1990 Yamaha RZ 350 motorcycle

The suspects also caused about $1,000 damage to the tonneau cover of a truck on the property.

Man injured while working on vehicle

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after noon on saturday, a 58-year-old man was working on a vehicle at the South Buxton Raceway.

While doing so, the vehicle tipped over resulting in the victim receiving a head injury.

Paramedics attended and transported the man to the hospital.

The Ministry of Labour has taken over the investigation.

Man arrested on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday night, just after 6 p.m., officers on general patrol in the Gray Street area of Chatham, located a man that was wanted on outstanding warrants.

A 28-year-old was arrested and later released with a future court date of September 30, 2020.

Break and enter into St. Vincent DePaul Camp

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Friday and Saturday unknown suspects entered several buildings on the property and stole an undetermined amount of property.

This investigation is still ongoing.

Female arrested for breach of peace

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday night, just after 9:30 p.m. police responded to an address on Sheldon Avenue, Chatham, regarding a female that was intoxicated and out of control in her residence.

Due to safety concerns, the female was taken into custody and later released when sober.

Man arrested for assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening at 9 p.m. police responded to an address on St. George Street in Chatham, regarding an assault.

Two parties had been involved in a physical altercation resulting in one person with head injuries.

A 46-year-old was arrested for assault and later released with a future court date of October 7, 2020.

Female arrested on domestic related charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday evening, just shortly after 5:30 p.m. police received a call for a disturbance on a boat located in the Thames River.

The people on the boat refused to come to shore when requested.

With the assistance of the Chatham-Kent Fire Department and their boat, officers were able to board the suspect’s vessel.

After investigation, a 34-year old female was arrested on domestic related charges.

She was later released with a future court date of September 30, 2020.
