Mr. John Edward Babbitt, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus, in Chatham, at the age of 78.
John was born in Wallaceburg and was a son of the late Charlie and Wanda (Yax) Babbitt.
Beloved husband of Betty (Taylor) Babbitt for 54 years.
Loving father of Richard Babbitt and Robert (Crystal) Babbitt.
Sadly missed by his grandchildren Nathan, Anna, Cameron, Caleb, Cassandra and Klarissa.
Survived by his sisters in law Marg Babbitt, Evelyn Babbitt and Lanna Pratt.
Predeceased by his brothers Jim and Charlie and his sisters Isobel (Cornell) Homorodean, Virginia Babbitt and Marion (Tom) Murphy.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The late John Babbitt rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.
Following his wishes, cremation has taken place.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 1 p.m. with visiting before the service from 12 noon to 1 p.m. all from First Baptist Church, Wallaceburg.  Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, we are asking reservations for visitation and the service be made by calling the funeral home (519-627-2861). Masks are mandatory. Â
