Man charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early yesterday morning, police located a man wanted for domestic related offences.

Through investigation, police learned that the man had thrown a hot chocolate at a woman known to him, while she was out riding her bicycle.

The 40-year-old man of no fixed address was additionally charged with assault.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing and released from Court with a future court date of September 30, 2020.

Man charged with mischief

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a disturbance between a man and woman in Ridgetown.

Through investigation, police learned that during a verbal argument, the man took a baseball bat and smashed the woman’s stand up fan.

The 37-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of September 23, 2020.

Theft of tools in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. and Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. unknown suspects forced their way into a truck parked on Selkirk Street and stole various Milwaukee and Klein tools, valued at approximately $3,000.

Theft from vehicle in Raleigh Township

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Tuesday at 6 p.m. and Wednesday at 7 p.m. unknown suspects entered a fenced compound on Charing Cross Road and stole various tools from an unlocked truck.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $6,000.

Motor vehicle collisions

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Keil Drive near Riverview Drive in Chatham.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $10,000.

The driver at fault was charged with disobeying a red light.
