Weapons call in Aamjiwnaang

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: On Saturday evening, August 29, the Sarnia Police Service responded to a weapons call at an address located in south end of Aamjiwnaang First Nation.

Officers attended in the area of Beaver Circle, LaSalle Line, Waboose Circle, and Vidal Street South and were asking people to remain indoors as officers investigated.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, the Sarnia Police Service advised that the weapons call was resolved.

A suspect was taken into custody.

The investigation is still ongoing with further information is expected to be released on Monday, August 31.

“We would like to thank Aamjiwnaang First Nations for their co-operation in this matter,” police say.
