Mary Louise “Molly” (nee O’Donohoe) of Wallaceburg and formerly of Scarborough, Peterborough, Shawinigan and Beloeil, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance – Chatham Campus on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at the age of 91 with family by her side.
Molly is the daughter of the late Frank and Ellen (Long) O’Donohoe.
Beloved wife of the late Edward “Ted” for almost 62 years.
Loving mother of Robert (Susan), Louise (Tim), Rosemary (John), Elizabeth and Kathleen (June).
Cherished grandmother of Noah.
Molly is also survived by her sister Rose Telfer (Keith) and her aunt Mary Wilkins (Charlie) and by many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send heartfelt thanks to all the CKHA staff in Complex Continuing Care – nurses, personal support workers, housekeeping and dietary staff — who became her second family during the Covid-19 restrictions for their kindness and caring support when we were unable to visit.
A devoted believer of the Baha’i Faith for more than 70 years, Molly was active in the Local Spiritual Assemblies in Peterborough, Beloeil and Chatham.
Molly was a dedicated volunteer with the Sydenham Hospital Auxiliary for more than 30 years.
Molly loved classical music, theatre, reading, Scrabble and crossword puzzles until her last days.
Her friendly cheerfulness and kind nature will be missed by many.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Monday, August 31 from 6 – 8 PM and on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, from 12 noon until time of service in the chapel at 1:30 PM.
Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
