Man charged with impaired driving
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police received several calls regarding a possible impaired driver on Richmond Street in Chatham.
Officers located the vehicle on Queens Line and a traffic stop was initiated.
Through investigation, police believed the man was driving while under the influence of a drug.
The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters where a Drug Recognition Expert conducted an evaluation.
As a result, the DRE officer believed the man was impaired by a drug.
A 56-year-old Chatham man has been charged with impaired driving.
He was released pending a future court date of October 23, 2020.
Theft of tools in Morpeth
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, unknown suspects entered a shed on Furnace Street and stole a DeWalt cordless weed wacker and Stihl chainsaw.
Total value of the theft has been estimated at $600.

Theft of two vehicles in Wheatley
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning around 11 a.m. police responded to the report of a suspicious black Ford F-150 truck parked and unattended on the side of Coatsworth Road near 3rd Concession Line.
Through investigation, police learned that the truck had been stolen from GNG Auto Sales on Talbot Trail.
Inside the truck were also stolen tools from the business.
Officers attended GNG Auto Sales and confirmed that a break and enter had occurred sometime between Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m.
Approximately $20,000 worth of tools were stolen along with an unplated red 2007 Dodge Charger with black rear spoiler and aluminum sport rims.
