A volunteer clean-up of the Sydenham River in Wallaceburg is set for Saturday, October 3, 2020.
Sally Joyce, who spearheaded the initiative, told the Sydenham Current she is encouraging people to come by canoe or kayak, or to participate wearing waders or boots.
Joyce said she is asking people to bring garbage bags and other tools, like gloves or nets.
She said laundry bags are great to use for collecting trash in the water as well.

Joyce said volunteers are meeting at 255 Wallace Street in Wallaceburg at 10 a.m.
The clean-up is expected to run until 3 p.m.
