Male arrested on warrants in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On October 2, 2020, shortly after 2 p.m., a 30-year-old man was arrested on Richmond Street on warrants for theft and possession and breach of probation.

After being transported to CKPS Headquarters he was released from custody on a future court date.

Female arrested for breach of peace in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 4:30 p.m., a 35-year-old female was arrested following a disturbance call involving a female party defecating in the middle of the street.

The female was arrested for breach of the peace and was transported to CKPS Headquarters, where she was later released from custody.

Break and enter in Wheatley

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 3 a.m. on October 3, 2020 police responded to an alarm at JNG Auto Sales.

Unknown persons gained entry into the business by breaking a door frame and then fled with out stealing any property.

Man charged with mischief

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 17, 2020 staff at the Chatham-Kent Courthouse reported that the entire phone line was down.

Bell Canada attended and determined that the supply boxes had been damaged.

With the assistance of video surveillance, police identified the man responsible.

Yesterday, a 28-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with mischief over $5,000 and failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was released pending a future court date of October 27, 2020.

Impaired driving charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 6 p.m. Thursday night, police received a call from an off-duty police officer regarding a possible impaired driver on River Line.

A traffic stop was initiated and through investigation, the officer believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol.

The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

A 57-year-old West Lorne man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

He was released pending a future court date of October 21, 2020.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 7 p.m. Thursday night, police responded to the report of a suspicious man sitting in a parking lot on King Street East in Chatham.

Officers located the man who was sitting in the driver’s seat with his vehicle running and in reverse.

Officers were able to open the door and put the vehicle in park.

Through investigation, police believed the man was in control of his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

A 60-year-old Dresden man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

He was released pending a future court date of October 21, 2020.

Theft of tools and rifle in Dover Township

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Wednesday at 4 p.m. and Thursday at 2 p.m. unknown suspects entered a shed on Marsh Line and stole approximately $10,000 worth of equipment along with a .22 calibre single shot Cooey rifle.
