Man arrested from ‘Wanted List’

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police received information that a man wanted for three counts of failing to comply with his release conditions, robbery and forcible confinement was at a residence on Harvey Street in Chatham.

As officers attended the home, the man tried to escape through a rear window.

The 23-year-old Chatham man was taken into custody and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with using counterfeit money

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, police respond to the report of a man using counterfeit money to pay for a cab fare in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man used a counterfeit $50 bill to pay for his fare and that he was breaching his curfew condition.

The 35-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with possessing counterfeit money, using counterfeit money and two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Stolen car in Howard Township

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime yesterday between noon and 2 p.m. unknown suspects forced their way into the compound at Sunny Acres on Talbot Trail and stole a silver 2007 Chrysler 300 along with three car batteries.

The vehicle was unplated.

Theft of bikes and tools in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to the report of suspicious activity in the Jackson Park area.

Upon police arrival, officers located tools, Stihl grass trimmer and bicycles.

Through investigation, police learned that the grass trimmer was stolen from a nearby church and the tools and bicycles were stolen from a nearby home.

Motor vehicle collision in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Keil Drive near Kerr Avenue.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $3,000.

The driver at fault was charged with making a turn not in safety.

Female arrested for possession and fraud in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 8 a.m. on October 3, officers were conducting an investigation into a stolen vehicle, which was recovered the same day.

As a result, a 30-year-old woman was arrested for theft and possession over $5,000 and theft and possession under $5,000 and fraud under $5,000.

The woman was transported to CKPS Headquarters and later released on a future court date.

Female arrested for breach of probation in Blenheim

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 12 p.m. on Saturday, a 35-year-old woman was arrested for theft and possession under $5,000 and breach of probation.

She was later released from custody on a future court date.

Break and enter in Howard Township

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between September 26 and October 3, unknown suspects entered three trailers on the property.

Removed was an ATV (Yellow – 76TV5) and various tools.

Approximately $10,000 in total value.

Male arrested for assault with a weapon in Blenheim

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday, police were called to a residence for an assault complaint, where it was learned a 37-year-old man assaulted a 40-year-old man with a guitar.

The accused party was arrested for assault with a weapon and was held for a bail hearing.

Male arrested on warrants in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 6 p.m., a 26-year-old man was arrested on a breach of probation warrant.

He was transported to HQ and released on a Form 10.
