Seth Griffith signs 2-year deal with the Edmonton Oilers

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith has signed a two-year, two-way deal with the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers.

The club made the announcement on Friday, October 9, 2020.

Griffith, 27, scored 21 goals and 20 assists in 58 games with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose last season.

Griffith has scored eight goals and added 11 assists in 79 career NHL games.

The Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Association (WMHA) were quick to congratulate Griffith on social media.

“Seth wore the Blue, White, and Red of the Wallaceburg Lakers up until U13,” WMHA officials said.

“After being drafted by the Bruins he’s played in Boston, Toronto, Florida, and Buffalo. For two seasons he’s played for the Manitoba Moose and we’re all pulling for Seth to crack the Oilers squad to play alongside Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.”

Reports say Griffith’s deal includes an average annual salary of $725,000.
