Man charged with mischief
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, around 3:30 a.m. officers responded to the report of a man trespassing at the Car and Dog Wash on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that the owner observed the man via video surveillance dumping garbage on the property.
The owner attended the business and confronted the man, which resulted in the owner being threatened.
The 25-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000 and uttering threats.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man charged with break and enter
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to the report of a suspicious man on Arnold Street in Wallaceburg.
Officers located the man and he was arrested in connection with a break and enter earlier this month at Wallaceburg 24hr Towing where the compound was entered and a vehicle was damaged.
Through investigation, police learned that the man was also responsible for a break and enter at mPower Electric where approximately $1,500 worth of construction tools were stolen.
A 27-year-old man, of no fixed address, was charged with two counts of break and enter.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing and released with a future court date of October 22, 2020.
Man breaches curfew
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On October 2, 2020 a man was released from custody with several conditions.
One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Early Sunday morning, police attended the man’s residence to speak with him in regards to an unrelated matter, however he was not home.
Yesterday morning, police located the man and he was arrested.
A 30-year-old Morpeth man was charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing and released with a future court date of October 21, 2020.
Man charged with failing to comply
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On August 9, 2020 a man was released from custody with several conditions.
Two of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific Chatham woman and notify police in writing three days prior to any change in address.
On August 12, 2020 the man sent the woman a Facebook message.
Through investigation, police also learned that the man was not living at the last known address on file.
Yesterday afternoon, police located the man and he was arrested.
The 49-year-old Chatham man has been charged with two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.
He was released pending a future court date of November 10, 2020.
Executed warrants
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police arrested a man wanted in connection with a shoplifting incident at the LCBO on Wellington Street in Chatham earlier this year.
A 30-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with theft under $5,000.
He was released pending a future court date of November 6, 2020.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to the report of a suspicious man in the area of McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.
Officers located the man on Bethel Road and through investigation learned that the was wanted in connection with a domestic disturbance earlier this month.
The 50-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with domestic related offences.
He was released pending a future court date of November 10, 2020.
Theft of television in Chatham
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, around 10 a.m. an unknown man forced his way into a residence on Howard Road, causing about $500 damage.
Once inside the man stole a 50” Samsung television.
The suspect is described as a white man, 30-35 years, 5’10” with a medium build, dark hair and dark scruffy beard or goatee.
He left the area in a blue Chevrolet Cobalt.

Break and enter investigation leads to theft of motor vehicle
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Sunday at 11:30 p.m. and yesterday at 7:30 a.m. unknown suspects entered a detached garage on Garden Path in Chatham and stole various items valued at approximately $500.
Sometime between Sunday at 9 p.m. and yesterday at 9 a.m. unknown suspects stole a grey 2015 Kia Sedona van from a residence on Kirkcaldy Place.
The van was last seen with Ontario license plates CEBT 399.
Most of the stolen items from Garden Path were located in the area of the stolen van on Kirkcaldy Place and returned to the owner.

Operation Impact
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Officers were out in full force over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend focusing their efforts on road safety as part of ‘Operation Impact’.
A total of 345 tickets for various offences, such as speeding, not wearing a seat belt, parking infractions and other various Highway Traffic Act offences were issued to motorists across Chatham-Kent.
One person was charged with impaired driving, two drivers were charged with stunt driving and seven suspended drivers were removed from our roads.
We would like to remind motorists that road safety is a priority here in Chatham-Kent and that your actions have an impact.
