Community Living Wallaceburg has cancelled one of their biggest annual fundraisers for this year.
“It is with heavy hearts that Community Living Wallaceburg announces the cancellation of the 20th Annual Box Lunch Fundraiser, due to the rising concern of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Community Living Wallaceburg officials posted on social media.
“Customers who purchased a box lunch we kindly ask you to email Shelby at Shelby.Johnston@getintocommunityliving.com regarding the refund process.”
The agency had the event originally scheduled for April 23, 2020.
However, back in March the event was postponed until fall.
Community Living Wallaceburg officials say over the past 20 years, the event has grown from just 271 lunches served in 2001, to more than 2,000 in 2019.
Officials say this milestone was possible thanks to the generous support of the community including volunteers, sponsors and all who order lunches each year.
