Lambton OPP officials allege: On October 9, 2020 at approximately 8:26 p.m. members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a collision involving a train and a van at the railway tracks on LaSalle Line in St. Clair Township.
Lambton OPP members arrived on scene and locate an unoccupied, un-plated damaged van.
The train had stopped and one of the cars was damaged.
Initial investigation revealed the van was travelling Eastbound on LaSalle Line as the train was crossing the Railroad Crossway and collided with the train in motion.
West Region Canine Unit (K9) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) attended the scene in an attempt to locate the driver of the van.
A Scenes of Crime Officer attended to assist with the investigation.
Lambton OPP is continuing to investigate this incident.
