‘Appointment only’ service in the Dresden & Chatham ServiceOntario offices

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has implemented an ‘appointment only’ service in the Dresden and Chatham ServiceOntario offices effective Monday, November 9.

The following offices previously reinstated regular business hours and services:

Chatham ServiceOntario (Grand Avenue) – July 20

Dresden ServiceOntario and Municipal Centre – August 4

Municipal officials say the municipally-operated ServiceOntario offices in both Dresden and Chatham are currently experiencing extensive customer wait times on a consistent basis.

“Such wait times often result in customers waiting outside for an extended period of time, due to the high demand of service requirements,” Municipal officials said in a media release.

“Focusing on the overall customer experience, we are implementing temporary changes to reduce customer wait times, especially with the approaching inclement weather. The Municipality is modifying the existing ‘office is open’ status to a ‘by appointment only’ service for both locations, until further notice.”

Municipal officials added: “We greatly value our customers and their feedback in terms of improving their experience with us. A scheduled appointment will assure shortened wait times for customers and ensure that customers will receive the service they signed up for that day.”

Customers will be required to call 311 (locally) or 519-360-1998 or email ck311@chatham-kent.ca to schedule an appointment with our customer service team.

A customer service representative will validate scheduled appointments at the entrances of the facilities.

Customers are reminded to wear face masks, social distance and hand sanitize upon entry.
ServiceOntario customers are encouraged to visit the ServiceOntario website (www.serviceontario.ca) for up-to-date office hours/status and special provisions.
