Men charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police located a man in Chatham who was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions.

The 43-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 4 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol this morning in Wallaceburg observed a man in the area of Albert Street and King Street, breaching his curfew.

The 26-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Youth charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Late yesterday afternoon, police responded to a disturbance in Dover Township.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged with assault and mischief under $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of December 7, 2020.

Man charged with being intoxicated in public place

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to the report of an intoxicated man sleeping in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked on Fourth Street in Chatham.

The owner of the vehicle did not recognize the man.

The 50-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

He was released when sober.

Motor vehicle collisions

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a three vehicle collision on Winterline Road near W. Lewis Line.

Minor injuries were reported.

Total damage was estimated at $20,000.

A 31-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with careless driving.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a two vehicle collision on North Street near Sydenham Street in Dresden.

No one was injured.

The driver at fault was charged with making an unsafe move.

The Chatham-Kent Police also received two calls regarding collisions with deer.

We would like to remind everyone to be more vigilant on our roads, especially during dusk and dawn, which is when most collisions with deer occur.

Theft of tools in Merlin

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspects entered an unlocked barn on Aberdeen Street and stole $2,500 worth of DeWalt tools.
