Brigden Fair 50/50 draw fundraiser stopped early

The Harvest Gold 50/50 Draw, supporting the Brigden Fair, was permanently stopped before the closing date of December 1, 2020.

Malcolm Rogers, president of the Moore Agricultural Society, told the Sydenham Current the action was taken by the organizing group, as their license is being challenged by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

Rogers said the Moore Agricultural Society would like to thank everyone for their participation and they would like to apologize for the early termination of the draw, which was out of their hands.

Rogers said the draw did take place and the winner, Amanda, won $35,270.

Dana Haggith caught up with Rogers for an interview. Listen, below:

Back in October, Rogers said the funds raised will allow the Moore Agricultural Society to to maintain the buildings on the fairgrounds and property and also to continue supporting numerous other groups in the community.
