Zero active COVID-19 cases on Walpole Island

Walpole Island First Nation officials say there are zero active cases of COVID-19 in the community.

Walpole officials posted an update on social media on Monday and Tuesday this week, which showed no active cases.

The total number of positive cases of the virus on the First Nation remains at 23.

22 cases are resolved and one person has died.

A total of 459 residents have been tested for the virus, with 427 negative results.

A total of nine test result are still pending.

Last month, Walpole Island First Nation Chief and Council announced they were implementing testing for all staff and a deep cleaning of offices, following a positive COVID-19 test among staff. Details, here.

Walpole Island officials said if residents are experiencing symptoms, they should self-isolate immediately and call the Walpole Island Health Centre at 519-627-0765 or after hours, call Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000.
