Police: Arson, domestic dispute in Dresden, warrants executed

Warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 18, 2020 at approximately 4 p.m., police were in the area of the WISH Centre in a Chatham.

Police officers located a 50-year-old Chatham woman in the parking lot.

She was wanted by CKPS and was arrested and released with a future court date of January 29, 2021.

Warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 19, 2020 at approximately midnight, police located a 53–year-old Chatham woman who had an active warrant for theft with the Chatham-Kent Police.

Police arrested made an arrest and transported her to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters.

She was subsequently released with a future court date of January 15, 2021.

Arson

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 19, 2020 at approximately 12:30 a.m. police responded to the area of St. Clair Street in Chatham.

A 37-year-old Chatham woman had started a fire inside a bus shelter in order to keep warm and was located by police
standing outside the shelter upon arrival.

The fire was extinguished by CKFD after causing minimal damage.

The woman had previously been charged with arson and as a result was charged with breaching a court condition and
arson.

She was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and held for bail.

Domestic dispute

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 19, 2020 at approximately 5 a.m., police responded to the area of Camden Street in Dresden, in response to a domestic dispute.

A 37-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man were involved in a physical altercation.

The man was arrested for one count of assault and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters pending a bail hearing.
