An associate who works at RONA in Wallaceburg has tested positive for COVID-19.
The company posted a message on social media on December 22, 2020.
“We were informed on December 21 that an associate who works at our RONA Wallaceburg store, located at 860 Murray Street, received a positive COVID-19 diagnosis,” RONA officials say.
“The associate last worked on December 12. We are taking the situation very seriously. To protect the health and safety of our associates and customers, we proceeded to an extensive cleaning and disinfecting of the premises on December 21 after closing the store.”
RONA officials added: “These actions were in addition to the enhanced cleaning and disinfecting measures already in place. All associates identified as having been in close contact with the infected associates have been put on preventive paid quarantine at home. We also duly reached out to local public health authorities to inform them of the situation and of the measures taken at the store before reopening the store on December 22.”
RONA officials say if customers visited the store between December 8-12 inclusive, they encourage customers to monitor for symptoms until December 26 inclusive, if they visited the store on December 12, and call Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000 if needed.
