Homeschoolers Xavier, 7, and Alexa, 4, were recently tasked with planning a hot chocolate stand and choosing a charity to donate the funds raised.
Since their mother, Rebecca, is on the fundraising committee for Camp Vincent, it was the first charity that came to mind.
The two planned a menu, chose prices, made a goal of what they wanted to raise, went shopping for supplies and invited friends to schedule a time to come by.
The response was overwhelmingly positive.
Two hours into the stand, they had raised nearly $200 and donations were still coming in.
The mission at Camp Vincent is to provide all children from all walks of life with safe, exhilarating, and memorable experiences which will last a lifetime, regardless of ability, identity, belief, or financial backgrounds.
“We are training the world’s next leaders at Camp Vincent and are incredibly proud of these two for thinking of others and putting the work in,” camp officials say.
