Winter weather travel advisory ends across Chatham-Kent

Update: The winter weather travel advisory was ended by Environment Canada at 9:19 a.m.

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory at 6:13 a.m. this morning, December 25, 2020, across Chatham-Kent.

Forecasters say some hazards, include:

– Poor visibility in rapidly accumulating and blowing snow

– Locally 10 to 15 cm of snow

The timing of the advisory is now through this morning

Forecasters say motorists can expect hazardous travel conditions.

“Intense lake effect snow has developed off Lake Huron and will bring accumulating snow for the next several hours,” Environment Canada officials say.

“Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.”
