Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Winter weather has returned to the roads of Chatham-Kent.

There were seven motor vehicle collisions reported yesterday throughout the Municipality.

1: Slow down and stay in control – Many winter collisions happen because drivers are going too fast for road conditions.

2: Space – It takes longer to stop on slippery roads- make sure there’s extra space between you and other vehicles.

Break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Thursday, December 24, 2020 at approximately 7 p.m., police were dispatched to attend the area of Bell Rose Line in response to a break and enter.

Investigation revealed that a laptop was stolen, and approximately $1,000 damage was done to the residence.

Break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Wednesday morning police responded to a break and enter to a garage on Erieau Road in Blenheim.

Sometime overnight an unknown person entered a garage on the property and took a utility trailer containing a large quantity of power tools.

The value of the property taken is $15,000.

The investigation is ongoing and there are currently no suspects.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Wednesday morning police responded to a break and enter to a building on Lindsay Road in Dresden.

Sometime between December 21 and 23 an unknown person entered the building and took $1,100 in electronics.

The investigation is ongoing and there are currently no suspects.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning police responded to a break and enter to a business on Old Glass Road in Wallaceburg.

Sometime overnight an unknown person cut the locks to 3 storage units and it is currently unknown if anything was taken. The investigation is ongoing and there are currently no suspects.

Warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Wednesday afternoon an officer on general patrol in Chatham located a male in the area of Sandys Street who was known to be wanted on several outstanding warrants.

The 31-year-old male was arrested on the strength of the warrants and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and he is to be held for bail.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Wednesday afternoon an officer on general patrol in Chatham located a male in the area of Williams Street who was known to have warrant for Failing to Comply with Probation.

The 55-year-old male was arrested on the strength of the warrant, transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and later released with a future court date.

Break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Wednesday night police responded to a break and enter to a garage at a residence on McCreary Line in Wallaceburg.

Unknown person cut the lock to a garage on the property and took $500 in power tools.

The investigation is ongoing and there are currently no suspects.

Motor vehicle collision leads to impaired charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of London CT., in Chatham.

One of the vehicles involved attempted to flee the scene and was located a short distance away.

Officers spoke to the driver and through investigation believed the female was driving while impaired by alcohol.

The female was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for tests.

A 52-year-old Chatham woman was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

She was later released with a future court date
