Man charged with domestic related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last fall, a woman contacted police for assistance, as her ex-boyfriend would not cease communicating with her.

Officers spoke to the man and cautioned him about his actions.

Between September 14, 2020 and January 18, 2021 the woman received approximately 60 unwanted emails from the man.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman also observed the man’s vehicle in the area of her work place.

Yesterday afternoon, the 54-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal harassment.

He was released pending a future court date of February 24, 2021.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, OPP arrested a man who was wanted in connection with a shoplifting incident at the Canadian Tire store in Tilbury on November 3, 2020.

A 41-year-old Kingsville man was turned over to CKPS officers and charged with theft under $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of February 24, 2021.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Late yesterday afternoon, police arrested a man who was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions and breach of probation.

A 34-year-old Chatham man was charged and released pending a future court date of February 24, 2021.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after midnight, police located a man on Richmond Street in Chatham who was wanted for failing to attend court for his fingerprints.

A 34-year-old Raleigh Township man was arrested, charged and released pending a future court date of February 24, 2021.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, around 1 a.m. police located another man on Richmond Street in Chatham who was wanted for failing to attend court, failing to comply with his release conditions and using a stolen credit card.

A 41-year-old Chatham man was arrested, charged and released pending a future court date of January 29, 2021.

Theft in Ridgetown

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime in the last week, unknown suspects forced their way into an outdoor storage area at NAPA Auto Parts on Main Street West.

At this time, six acetylene and oxygen tanks were stolen.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $3,000.

Storage units entered in Blenheim

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, unknown suspects entered three units at Access Storage on Allison Line.

Police are working with the owners to determine what, if anything, was stolen.

Woman charged with theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Monday afternoon, a woman attended Shoppers Drug Mart on Queen Street and stole cologne and candy, valued at approximately $70.

The woman also attended the Real Canadian Superstore and stole a Keurig coffee maker, valued at $128.

With the assistance of video surveillance, police identified the woman responsible.

On Monday night, police located the woman and she was taken into custody.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman was also wanted in connection with a previous shoplifting incident last week along with failing to attend court, three counts of theft under $5,000 and two counts of being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

The 36-year-old woman of no fixed address has been charged with breach of probation, failing to comply with her release conditions and two counts of theft under $5,000.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with breaching curfew

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 10, 2020 a man was released from court with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Monday night, an officer on general patrol observed a man walking on Richmond Street in Chatham.

A 28-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was released pending a future court date of January 27, 2021.
