Winter weather travel advisory issued for Thursday night

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for tonight, Thursday, February 4, 2021.

“Snow is expected to move into southwestern Ontario after 6 p.m. and advance northeastward as the evening progresses,” forecasters say.

“At any location, the heaviest snowfall is most likely during the first two or three hours after onset, with lighter snowfall expected after that. Total snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are possible tonight with the bulk of the precipitation likely coming in the first few hours.”

Road conditions are expected to rapidly deteriorate once the snow arrives, Environment Canada officials added.
