Police: B&E in Wallaceburg, ATV stolen, thefts

Theft on King Street in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A male was observed concealing items at a local store and left without paying.

Police were dispatched to the area and located the male.

The property was recovered and returned to the store.

The male was charged under the Trespass to Property Act and released.

Break and enter on Sheldon Ave. in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Unknown suspects entered an apartment on Sheldon Ave. Chatham.

When inside the culprits tossed personal items around in attempt to look for valuables.

Break and enter on Nelson Street in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Chatham-Kent Police were contacted to attended a local business on Nelson Street in Wallaceburg.

The suspects had smashed a front door and entered the business.

A search of the building and general area came up negative.

Theft of ATV on Florence Road

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: In the early morning hours, the owner of an ATV noticed two parties driving away from his residence.

The owner followed the two suspects but lost them when they went into a field on Base Line Road on his ATV.

The theft is currently under investigation.
