Chatham – Kent Public Libraries Continue Curbside Service

The provincial lockdown order for Chatham-Kent ends today; our community enters
into the Provincial COVID response framework at ‘Red Control’. CEO/Chief Librarian,
Tania Sharpe, in consultation with General Manager, Dr. April Rietdyk and Library
Managers, has made the decision that Chatham-Kent Public Library will continue
offering Curbside Service only at this time.

Staff and patron safety remains the priority for Chatham-Kent Public Library, and so,
CKPL will continue to provide Curbside Service while Chatham-Kent is in the ‘Red
Control’ zone. This decision will be re-evaluated every 2 weeks, when there are new
announcements regarding where Chatham-Kent is on the provincial COVID
response framework.

CK residents have been making good use of Curbside Service, borrowing 41,129
items from 11 branches in the month of January. Library staff can connect patrons
with books, movies and other materials that meeting their needs for entertainment
or education, and are happy to chat with patrons about what they are looking for!
Also, ‘Ask CKPL’ is available to answer questions by phone (519.354.2940), text
