New recruitment system launched by the Municipality

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has introduced a new recruitment system aimed at helping attract the best possible candidates for municipal job opportunities.

“We are competing on a provincial and global scale for talented people and as a prospective employer we want to make it as easy as possible for applicants,” stated Cathy Hoffman, Chatham-Kent’s General Manager Corporate Services/Chief Human Resource Officer, in a media release.

Using www.chatham-kent.ca/jobs candidates can visit the ‘Municipal Job Board’ and create a profile to apply for jobs through a more efficient process.

“Once created, the profile will remain on site and can be updated by the candidate at any time, further streamlining the process,” stated Lucas Chambers, Manager of Talent Acquisition and Development, in a media release.

Job seekers can also register for career alerts to be notified of new postings, and can receive support from the municipal employment resource centres (some services are subject to COVID-19 restrictions).

“We view the employee-employer relationship very much as a partnership,” Hoffman added.

“It is important that we demonstrate that from the very beginning of the recruitment process. Ultimately we want our employees to have the chance to build a career with the Municipality.”
