Fairfield Park says ‘thank-you’ in new video, as COVID-19 cases continue to drop

The staff at Fairfield Park are saying “thank-you” in a new video created by the staff at the long-term care home in Wallaceburg.

Meanwhile, Fairfield Park officials say CK Public Health has confirmed only one active COVID-19 case remains among residents and one active case among staff.

“All other cases have been resolved and we are cautiously optimistic that we will be able to put this outbreak behind us soon,” Fairfield Park officials said in media release issued on Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

“Despite this good news, we continue to do weekly testing in our home to monitor any potential spread and we remain vigilant in all ongoing infection prevention and control measures for the continued health and safety of all residents and staff.”

Fairfield Park officials added: “The community has been so supportive of us during this time and, although we could never adequately express our gratitude for the kindness shown to our residents and staff, we wanted to find a way to say thank you. We could not have done any of this without our friends and neighbours and so our staff have put together a video. From our home to yours… thank you.”

The video can be seen on the Sydenham Current Facebook page, here.

The COVID-19 outbreak at Fairfield Park remains active and a total of 100 cases have bene linked to the outbreak, public health officials say.

The institutional outbreak was first declared on January 10, 2021.
