CKRec announces the return of in-person programming

CKRecreation has announced the return of in-person programming starting March 15, 2021.

Municipal officials say programs in the first stage of the progressive reopening plan include:

– Shotokan Karate

– Craft Crew

– Red Cross Babysitting

– Play Rangers

– Spring Break Extravaganza Camp

– Swimming Lessons

The CKRecreation team has been working closely with CK Public Health to reopen its programs, including the implementation of new protocols to ensure public health guidelines are followed, Municipal officials say.

These protocols include physical distancing measures, gathering restrictions, hand hygiene and face coverings.

“We are very excited to be returning to in-person activities and look forward to welcoming participants back to the exceptional programs our community has come to expect from CKRecreation,” stated Ann Robinson, manager of recreation and community engagement services, in a media release.

“Parents can rest assured that our programs will follow all public health guidelines while still providing the social interaction and physical literacy that has been missing for so many children over the past months.”

Registration for all programs is now open and can be quickly and easily completed using our online registration system.

Visit chatham-kent.ca/recreation or call 519-360-1998 for more information on dates, times, locations, prices and program descriptions.

Due to cohort restrictions, spaces are limited so it is recommended to register early, Municipal officials say.

The second stage of the reopening plan will begin immediately following the school spring break and will include the following programs:

– STEM Squad

– Learn to Play Soccer

– Learn to Play Baseball

– Inclusive Recreation Programs

Programming updates will be announced via Facebook (@CKRecreation) and Instagram (@ck_recreation).
