Four active COVID-19 cases on Walpole Island

The active COVID-19 case count sits at four on Walpole Island.

Officials on the First Nation reserve released the updated numbers on their COVID-19 website on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.

The active case count has remained unchanged since an update on March 1, 2021 as well.

The active cases had reached 14 back on February 22, 2021.

Officials on the First Nation reserve say there have been 59 positive cases confirmed since the pandemic began last March.

A total of 671 community tests have been administered to date, with eight results pending and 604 results coming back negative.

A total total of 54 cases have been resolved and one resident has died.

Walpole Island officials say if residents are experiencing symptoms, they should self-isolate immediately and call the Walpole Island Health Centre at 519-627-0765 or after hours, call Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000.
