Patients and visitors to use main entrance only at Wallaceburg’s hospital, as construction continues

Due to the ongoing construction of the replacement power plant at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Wallaceburg site, as of Wednesday, April 7, all patients and visitors will use the main entrance and parking lot only.

This is the entrance facing Margaret Avenue, hospital officials say.

“This includes emergency patients,” hospital officials said on social media.

“Thank you for your patience as construction crews continue to work at this site.”

Back in October, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance officials said Ontario is investing in healthcare in southwestern Ontario with a $7.3-million grant that will pave the way for critical upgrades at CKHA’s Wallaceburg site.

“Our Replacement Power Plant Project at our Wallaceburg Site will replace aging equipment with new boilers, generators and electrical distribution equipment,” hospital officials said on social media.

“We expect this project to be completed in fall 2021. The Replacement Power Plant Project marks the beginning of a phased approach to redeveloping our Wallaceburg Site to meet the community’s needs for years to come.”
