Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, around 9:30 a.m. police responded to the report of a stolen vehicle on Sanford Street in Wallaceburg.
Officers quickly located the vehicle on Dufferin Avenue.
As the vehicle crossed the bridge to Walpole Island, CKPS requested the assistance of OPP.
The vehicle stopped and the man fled on foot.
Following a short foot chase, the man was taken into custody.
A 25-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with theft over $5,000, being possession of property obtained by a crime over $5,000 and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
He was released pending a future court date of June 4, 2021.
