Update: Arrests made in shooting investigation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On January 26, 2021 around 6 p.m. police responded to a shooting on Harvey Street in Chatham.

Two people sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to hospital for medical attention of non-life-threatening injuries.

Through investigation, police learned that a third person was shot at but not wounded.

A dog was also shot and killed during the incident.

Through investigation, multiple suspects were identified.

Through the power of social media and with the public’s assistance, three of the five suspects were located and taken into custody within days of the incident.

Canada wide warrants were subsequently issued for a 19-year-old man and 17-year-old youth.

Yesterday, the pair were located in Thunder Bay and arrested on the outstanding warrants.

Both have been charged with three counts of attempted murder.

They have been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing in Thunder Bay.
