Police Week: CKPS highlights their partnership with CK Victim Services

As part of ‘Police Week’, the Chatham-Kent Police Service is highlighting their partnership with CK Victim Services.

Police officials say they know that human trafficking has no boundaries and is found in every community.

“What we can do is bring this hidden and complex crime to the forefront through education and sharing stories,” police officials said in a press release.

“By taking a victim centered approach, we can support survivors and hold those responsible, accountable for their actions. Together, we can make a difference.”

“COVID-19 made it clear that we had to conduct our work differently,” added Chatham-Kent Victim Services, Executive Director, Kate do Forno, in a media release.

“This year, we continued our partnership with the Chatham-Kent Police Service and enlisted the assistance of Human Trafficking survivors to produce educational videos. These videos are an example of collective creativity, helping us reach teens and their families while isolated.”
