Man charged with domestic related offences
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a domestic related incident at a residence in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that a woman had been assaulted by her ex-husband and that this was not the first incident of domestic violence during their relationship.
The 37-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm, mischief under $5,000, forcible confinement, uttering threats and three counts of assault.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man charged with resist arrest
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 4 a.m. this morning, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that the man had damaged his parent’s home.
Offices located the man hiding in a bush behind the residence.
As officers placed the man under arrest, he resisted.
The man was taken into custody and upon being searched, was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.
The 23-year-old Chatham man has been charged with resist arrest, drug possession and two counts of mischief under $5,000.
He remains in police custody this morning.

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers officials allege: Sometime overnight on Monday, May 24 unknown suspects entered a barn on Lambton Line.
Once inside they removed a 2015 Yamaha ATV bearing Ontario license plate 9DH09.
Value of the ATV is estimated at $9,000.
