Man charged with break and enter
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Tuesday night, around 9:30 p.m. police responded to a break and enter at a residence on Westcourt Boulevard in Wallaceburg, where electronics were stolen.
Total value of the theft was estimated at $1,500.
Upon examining the scene, a pair of crutches and phone were found to have been left behind by the suspects.
A short time later, a man with a leg cast was found in the area.
Through investigation, police determined the man was responsible for the theft and he was arrested.
A 34-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with break and enter.
He was released pending a future court date of June 15, 2021.
Collision leads to driving and drug charges
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, around 5:30 a.m. police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Boundary Line near Kent Bridge Road, where the driver fled through a nearby field.
With the assistance of K9 Helix, the man was found hiding in a ditch amongst tall weeds.
Through investigation, police believed the man was driving while under the influence of a drug.
The man refused to submit to a Standard Field Sobriety Test at the scene and was arrested.
Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of suspected crystal methamphetamine.
A 24-year-old West Lorne man was charged with driving while prohibited, refusing to comply with a demand, failing to remain at the scene of a collision and drug possession.
He was released pending a future court date of June 24, 2021.
Man charged with failing to comply
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 15, 2021 a man was released from custody with several conditions.
One of those conditions stated that he was not to attend a specific address in Chatham.
Shortly after 3 a.m. this morning, the man attended the residence and started knocking on the door.
Upon police arrival, officers found the man sitting on the front porch.
The 26-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Motor vehicle collisions
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on McCreary Line between Tile Road and Brigden Road.
Minor injuries were reported.
Total damage was estimated at $80,000.
A 43-year-old Wallaceburg woman was charged with careless driving.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Late yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Talbot Street near Chatham Street in Blenheim.
No one was injured.
Total damage was estimated at $30,000.
An 18-year-old Blenheim man was charged with making a turn not in safety.
