Man charged with break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 21, 2021 police responded to a break and enter at the Bell Canada office and tower on Queen Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that sometime overnight, unknown suspects entered the fenced compound and stole over 200 metres of DC trunk cable, valued at $6,000.

With the assistance of video surveillance, police identified the man responsible.

Last yesterday afternoon, police arrested and charged a 32-year-old Chatham man with break and enter.

He was released pending a future court date of July 28, 2021.

Mischief to vehicles

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime yesterday between midnight and 7 a.m. unknown suspects smashed the window of a car parked on James Street in Ridgetown.

Damage was estimated at $500.

Nothing was stolen from the vehicle.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime yesterday between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. unknowns suspects smashed the window of a van parked on Ottawa Drive in Chatham.

Damage was estimated at $1,500.

Nothing was stolen from the vehicle.

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers officials allege: Sometime overnight on Tuesday, June 15th, unknown suspects stole a black 2016 Ford Focus from a residence on Carnation Court Chatham.

The vehicle was last seen with Ontario license 6V2013.
