Man charged with mischief
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, a man was hitting golf balls on Emma Street in Chatham when he struck a truck driving by, causing the windshield to break.
Police located the man responsible for the damage and he was arrested.
The man was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
A 58-year-old Chatham man was charged with mischief under $5,000 and failing to comply with his release conditions.
He was released pending a future court date of July 30, 2021.
Man charged with domestic related offences
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Tuesday night, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Blenheim.
Through investigation, police learned that a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation.
The man fled prior to police arrival with the woman’s cell phone.
Last night, police located the man and he was arrested.
The 36-year-old Blenheim man was charged with theft under $5,000 and three counts of assault.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Traffic complaint leads to impaired charges
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to the report of an erratic driver in the area of Grant Street in Chatham.
An officer on general patrol located the vehicle on Victoria Avenue.
Through investigation, the officer believed the man was driving while impaired.
The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters where a Drug Recognition Expert conducted an evaluation.
As a result, the DRE officer believed the man was impaired by a drug.
Further investigation revealed that the man was driving a stolen vehicle from West Lorne and that he was in possession of stolen cheques.
The 41-year-old Thamesville man has been charged with impaired driving, being in possession of property obtained by a crime over $5,000, being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000 and driving while under suspension.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man charged with being in possession of prohibited weapon
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, an officer on general patrol observed the man in the area of a residence in Wallaceburg which he was currently not allowed to attend.
The man was arrested and upon being searched was found to be in possession of brass knuckles.
A 36-year-old man, of no fixed address, was charged with failing to comply with his release conditions and being in possession of a prohibited weapon.
He was released pending a future court date of July 28, 2021.
Man charged with failing to comply
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 6, 2021 the man was released from Court with several conditions.
One of those conditions stated that he was not to operate a motor vehicle.
Around 5 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol in Wallaceburg observed the man driving on Nelson Street.
A traffic stop was initiated and the man was arrested.
The 61-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged failing to comply with his release conditions.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
