Marie O’Flynn of Wallaceburg

Ivah MARIE O’Flynn of Wallaceburg, so sweet and special left us on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the age of 89.

Marie was the daughter of the late Isaac HAROLD & Ivah Mae (Wees) Skinner.

Beloved wife of 62 years to the late Gary O’Flynn (2013).

Dearly loved mother of Deborah Brittan (Bob), Elizabeth and Grady (Trish).

Cherished grandmother of Paul, Morgan, Larissa, Eamon, Conor, Liam, Kelsey, Dana and the late Kyle (1992).

Dear sister of Grace Fitzgerald, Noreen Wesenger, James Skinner and the late Doris Weatherston, Helen Buck, Audrey Stinson, June Lewis, Geraldine Noyle, Victor Skinner, Grant Skinner and Eugene Skinner.

Marie had worked at J.L. Thompson Construction, CIBC and BMO.

Marie and her husband, Gary, were very proud of being the founders of the Wallaceburg Courier Press newspaper in 1972 and then bringing the Baldoon Golf Course back to town with their son Grady.

Marie and Gary’s greatest accomplishments by far was their love of family, and she loved being a mom, grandmother and great grandmother.

Marie was a great source of strength, and comfort for them and will be missed terribly.

The family would like to thank Dr. Emer Dudley for taking such good care of Mom through the years, SDH Emergency staff for all they patience and help, EMT’s, The Oaks Retirement Village for their compassion and caring and such wonderful care in the last few months with Mom.

Thank you so much to Aunt Kathy who has been so involved in Mom’s life and care and other family members that went over and above.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 1 – 3 PM on Tuesday, July 20.
