Rainfall warning issued in Chatham-Kent

A rainfall warning has been issued in Chatham-Kent, as rain, at times heavy, continues.

“Radar and personal weather station rain gauges have indicated that 30 to 50 mm of rain has already fallen,” Environment Canada officials said at 2:46 p.m. on Friday.

“Additional rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm are expected by Saturday morning.”

Locations impacted include: Chatham, Blenheim, Rondeau Provincial Park, Ridgetown, Grande Pointe, Pain Court, Port Alma, Merlin, North Buxton, Arkwood, Dealtown, Thamesville, Erieau, Morpeth and Highgate.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
