Lord Selkirk Bridge closing for testing on Friday in Wallaceburg

The Lord Selkirk Bridge in Wallaceburg is set to be closed on Friday in order for testing to be completed.

“Please be advised that the Lord Selkirk Bridge will be closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic on Friday July 23, 2021 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.” Municipal officials said in a media release.

“This closure is required in order to complete bridge operation diagnostic testing. Thank you for your patience during this necessary closure.”

Municipal officials say all lanes will be closed at the bridge and emergency service vehicles will not have access over the bridge.

Highway 40 and heavy traffic are encouraged to use Murray Street (Highway 40), Base Line, Old Glass Road, Mason Street, Arnold Street and Dufferin Avenue.

Local and commercial traffic are encouraged to use: Dufferin Avenue, Wellington Street, Fork Street, Margaret Avenue, Murray Street (Highway 40) and Reaume Avenue.
