Dresden Library set to undergo renovations

Changes are coming to Chatham-Kent Public Library’s Dresden Branch.

“The old pinkish tile floor will soon be a thing of the past,” library officials say.

“In its place will be new flooring, along with a new adjustable-height circulation desk and replacement windows in the basement program room.”

The branch will be closed for approximately three weeks for renovations, from Thursday, August 12 to Monday, September 6, 2021.

Reopening on Tuesday, September 7 at 10 a.m.

On Tuesday, August 10 and Wednesday, August 11, Dresden Branch will offer extended ‘browse and go’ hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days so that patrons can stock up on library materials before the closure.

Luckily, Dresden Branch is only minutes away from CKPL’s Thamesville and Wallaceburg branches.

Patron due dates will be adjusted so that no materials will be due during the closure.

Any library items can continue to be returned in the Dresden Branch drop box.

Temporary Home Service will be available for patrons who aren’t able to travel out of town.

You can also access your account, search for items, manage holds, and download from CKPL’s Virtual Library during the closure.

Library staff are also available for questions: “Ask CKPL” by phone 519-354-2940, by text 519-401-7174, by email cklibrary@chatham-kent.ca or Facebook chat @CKPLibrary.
