Verbal dispute leads to crash, robbery/weapons charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A man was involved in a verbal dispute on Park Avenue West in Chatham.

When leaving the area the man was involved in a motor vehicle collision.

The man continued to the area of Riverview Drive in Chatham.

When at this location the argument continued at which time the man pulled a knife and took the keys belonging to another vehicle.

The man was followed towards an apartment and was eventually placed under arrest.

The man was held for bail on charges of assault, robbery, weapons dangerous and assault police.

Vehicle complaints leads to impaired charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Several calls were received for a truck all over the road and almost hitting several vehicles.

The truck was located south of Morpeth in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

The driver was placed under arrest for impaired driving and transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters.

The driver was found to have two and a half times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

A 55-year-old Chatham man was charged with Impaired /80 plus and released with a court date of August 24, 2021

Disturbance leads to mischief charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A man was found throwing recycling bins all over the road on King Street in Wallaceburg.

The man was arrested for mischief and transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters.

The man was currently on a release for mischief one week earlier.

The man was held for bail.

Woman charged with being intoxicated in a public place

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at approximately 7:28 p.m. police received a complaint of an unwanted person at the Tilbury Beer Store.

A 45-year-old Tilbury woman was found to be intoxicated by alcohol and unable to care for herself.

She was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and lodged until sober.

RIDE Program

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Friday night at approximately 11 p.m., police conducted a RIDE program on Keil Drive in Chatham.

75 vehicles were checked with one roadside test and one Provincial Offence Notice issued.

Break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday morning at approximately 3 a.m. police responded to a suspicious person call involving a male party riding an e-bike and pulling a trailer with a barbeque in it.

Further investigation revealed that there was a break-in to the Walmart compound on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.

The investigation is ongoing.
