Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit officials updated their ‘current status’ page of their website on Thursday, September 2, 2021.
The active COVID-19 case count has risen to 76, 18 more than on Wednesday.
Public health officials say 82.9% of the active cases are not fully vaccinated, 7.9% are fully vaccinated and 9.3% are unknown.
A total of eight people with COVID-19 from Chatham-Kent remain hospitalized.
The total number of COVID-19 cases is 2,070 across Chatham-Kent, 25 more than on Wednesday.
A total of 1,977 cases have been resolved.
A total of 37 cases are linked to close contact, 20 cases have information pending, 13 cases are unknown, five cases are outbreak related and one case is linked to travel.
CK Public Health officials say a community outbreak at an un-named congregate living setting remains active.
This outbreak includes eight cases in total and was first declared on August 25, 2021.
CK Public Health officials say the Delta variant continues to be the predominant circulating variant of concern in Chatham-Kent and Ontario.
“The majority of current cases among people living in CK have initial mutation screening results in line with the Delta variant,” public health officials added.
Public health officials say a total of 137,441 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to date, 73,129 people 12+ have received at least one dose and 66,958 people 12+ have received two doses.

A total of 127,563 tests for the virus have been completed to date.
Since the pandemic began last March, a total of 17 people from Chatham-Kent have died from COVID-19.
