COVID-19 exposure at Praise Fellowship Church in Chatham

CK Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Praise Fellowship Church, located at 165 Park Avenue East in Chatham.

Public health officials say there are multiple confirmed cases of COVID-19, and evidence of transmission, linked to in-person activities at the church.

Chatham-Kent’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Colby, advises that anyone who has visited or participated in any in-person activities at the church since Sunday August 29th should immediately get tested for COVID-19.

Activities include Sunday services, soup kitchen, prayer group, youth group, and devotional groups but not those who voted or worked at the Elections Canada advance polling station at the same site, CK Public Health officials say.

Testing appointments can be booked at Chatham’s Assessment Centre, located at 10 Grand Avenue West, using one of the following options:

– Visit the Assessment Centre in-person to book an appointment with one of the booking clerks

– Call 519.436.2556 to speak to someone directly to book an appointment

– Visit www.assessmentbooking.ca to book an appointment on-line

If you are currently experiencing symptoms, please get tested immediately, self-isolate at home, and contact CK Public Health by calling 519.355.1071 x 5902.
