Storm damage in Dresden

A severe thunderstorm ripped through the area on Sunday night, September 12, 2021.

Downed trees could be spotted throughout the community of Dresden as a result, as seen in the photos sent in by Dresden resident Jeff Vercauteren:

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials urged residents to be careful in Dresden, Bothwell and Thamesville last night.

“Please use caution if you are travelling in the area of Bothwell, Thamesville and Dresden tonight,” police officials tweeted.

“The severe weather conditions have resulted in downed power lines and trees. If possible avoid the area.”

Entegrus officials say power had been knocked out in parts of Bothwell as a result.

“Power outage in Bothwell due to storm,” Entegrus officials tweeted.

“Hydro one supply issue. Hydro one Crews have been dispatched. Estimated time of power restoration unknown.”

We’ll provide more details about the storm when they become available.
