Rood & Epp re-elected locally, Liberals set to form minority government

Conservative MP Lianne Rood has been re-elected in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.

At 11:30 p.m., Rood had a comfortable lead with 47.1% of the vote with 135 of 245 polls reporting.

NDP candidate Jason Henry (19.6%) and Liberal candidate Sudit Ranade (19.5%) were battling for second and third in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex as well.

Fellow Conservative MP Dave Epp has also been re-elected in Chatham-Kent-Leamington.

At 11:30 p.m., Epp had a comfortable lead with 40.1% of the vote with 220 of 272 polls reporting.

Local radio personality Greg Hetherington, who was running for the Liberals, was in second place with 29.1% of the vote.

Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada are set to form another minority government across the country.

Multiple media outlets made the projected call shortly after 11 p.m. on election night on Monday, September 20, 2021.
